Some Call It A Resort, You’ll Call It Home

A resort you will call homeBy Sam Mayo, Associate Broker
General Manager, Williamsburg Realty

When you read about Williamsburg’s Colonial Heritage, one of Virginia’s premier golf communities for active adults 55 and older, you will see a tagline that says “Some call it a Resort. You’ll call it Home.”

You can trust in what they are saying.

Colonial Heritage has all the amenities one looks for when the time comes to choose a community that has been built with a resort lifestyle in mind.  Located just minutes from historic Colonial Williamsburg, the gated community is anchored by an 18-hole championship golf course, a 25,000 square foot clubhouse, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts and spa.  The clubhouse has two dining rooms, ballroom, billiards room and woodworking shop.  It is also the hub for 35 club and interest groups.

Pickleball has also become a favorite sport.

It is also a growing community.  Colonial Heritage has been masterfully constructed in stages by Lennar, the leading builder of quality new homes in the most desirable real estate markets across the nation.  At least 11 home plans area available with several elevations with sizes ranging from 1,300+ to 5,000+ square feet.  Prices range from the high $200,000s and up.

Much of the property enjoys a natural landscape dotted with trees and water.

That’s exactly what is being offered in the newest section, Marston Ridge.

“There’s lots of wooded home sites and quite a few back up to the golf course,” says Wayne Sears, new homes sales consultant at Colonial Heritage.  “There will be a mix of homes in the section.”

More than 150 home sites are available with the Cottage, Manor and Plantation designs in mind.  The section started to take shape in the middle of last year.

“We’ve already had at least a dozen sold with 10 or so more being built,” continues Sears, who mentioned that some homes could have basements.  At least two homes with basements are also available in the previous section.  “We have a lot of people who really enjoy having the extra living space.”

Basements can be built out to suit any number of uses.

Home prices in Marston Ridge fall in line with the rest of the Colonial Heritage.

“I believe this will be a very popular section in our community,” he goes on to say.  “We’ve already had a lot of interest in Marston Ridge.”

Sears recently attended a resort style community expo in Tysons Corner near Washington D.C. and scheduled several potential buyers to visit Colonial Heritage.  A Discovery Package was offered to give them a chance to see what the community and Williamsburg offer.

The Discovery Package is good for a three-day, two-night stay, dinner for two ($50) or a round of golf, VIP treatment with access to the athletic club, swimming pools, tennis and more.  Cost is $199.

“This gives them a chance to live and experience Colonial Heritage, the lifestyle, and the surrounding community,” concludes Sears.  “They can get a feel for the area.”
