Virginia’s Diverse Landscape Perfect for Fall Foliage Views

Fall Foliage in Williamsburg VA 23185Virginia is known for its spectacular scenery with picturesque vistas from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the coast plains of Virginia Beach and the Eastern Shore. With autumn leaves exploding with spectacular colors and blanketing landscapes, it’s time to plan a road trip to see the state’s scenic outdoor destinations.

The graphic above, provided by the State of Virginia tourism department, gives a general time frame for enjoying the changing leaves throughout the Commonwealth in October. Tidewater shows best mid to late in the month with Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park at its peak early to mid-October.
