• Install a smart thermostat. This allows you to automatically raise or lower temperatures.
• For cooling. You can adjust it to 78 degrees or higher when temperatures begin to rise.
• For Heating: You can lower it to adjust to 68 or lower when temperatures begin to drop.
• Check air filters monthly and change with dirty.
• Periodically check your ductwork for leaks or tears.
• Have your central heating and cooling system services by a professional.
• Upgrade attic insulation if it is needed.
• Caulk, seal, and weather-strip around openings to protect against drafts.
• Set water heater to 120-125 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Replace standard light bulbs with Energy Star certified LEDS.
• Install advanced power strips where possible.
• Install a door sweep to seal gap between the floor and the door.
